Getting back to volunteerism, the original crowd-sourcing
V2V (Volunteer-to-Volunteer) is a social network that promotes direct contact and mass collaboration among volunteers. People from around the world can share in their passion for volunteering in the aim to enrich their lives and the lives of those around them.
V2V is linking up with global, like-minded companies who value community and volunteerism such as Starbucks Coffee Company who partnered with V2V on a global level in April 2008 with the launch of Starbucks V2V. The Starbucks V2V community is geared toward building community in local neighborhoods as well as around the world.
V2V (Volunteer-to-Volunteer) History
The first version of V2V technology was developed by Comunitas in Brazil and implemented in corporate volunteer programs and community organizations. In 2005, the challenge of expanding V2V as a global volunteer network brought together Comunitas and Chandra Foundation, from Spain. Omidyar Network supported V2V’s upscaling and outreach.
