Kevin Bacon is “Strung Out” at Riverkeeper’s Shad Fest
The only thing “caught” at this year’s Riverkeeper’s Shad Fest was this footage of Kevin Bacon singin’ in the rain with The Bacon Brothers’ band.
For the first time in the history of the festival (19 years), American shad was not served due to its 90-percent drop in numbers in the Hudson. Instead, Riverkeeper’s changed things up a bit took the opportunity to bring awareness to its members and the public about the shad’s drastic reduction.
And FYI, the beautiful grounds seen on the vid are the Boscobel Restoration, one of the most spectacular places to enjoy the Hudson River.
MORE ON Riverkeeper and American Shad:
The Shad Fest, Riverkeeper’s biggest and best family event, marks the late spring or “lilac” run of the American Shad, is a day filled with activities, entertainment, education, and great food and wine. This community event, drawing over 1,600 adults and children from New York City, the Hudson River Valley, and parts of New Jersey and Connecticut, is aimed at raising awareness of the health of the Hudson River, its communities, and the New York City drinking water supply.
