Anthony Watts is a member of National Survey on Recreation and the Environment (NSRE) as well as his city’s Sustainability Commission. So why is the local dead-tree news rag (just being glib here, sorry…) busting his chops that he’s not a proponent of alternative energy? Not only has Watts repeatedly said that pollution reduction is a good thing, today is the 1 year anniversary of a solar power project he spearheaded as a trustee for his local school district — cue Homer Simpson – Doh!
The project has exceeded production and financial expectations, producing 186,646 Kilowatt hours of electricity, and offsetting 231,441 pounds of CO2 emission as of this morning. You can watch the progress in real time on the schools solar energy webpage.
