1. The greenest house is the one that’s already built. It’s easier to build a new green house than to make an existing house green. But it’s not better. Remember: They’re not making any more land. Every time a field or forest gets turned into a construction site, the natural landscape loses ground. That’s why it’s greener to work with the houses we already have than to abandon them in favor of new construction.
