Earlier this week Idaho Senator Larry Craig, who was arrested and pleaded guilty to committing a lewd incident in a Minnesota airport men’s room, came out with an announcement listing the qualities he now seeks in summer interns. Well as David Letterman would have it, perhaps the senator has come out given some of the key attributes wanted in eager young college students boys looking to apply. It’s shaggerific that the joke is on Craig and not on the hot young men used in the clip — we understand how difficult it is for some to live their true sexuality, but the double standard of anti-gay conservatives who secretly burn to get a little guy-on-guy action into their life is always worthy of a good laugh. The more humor that is targeted toward these hypocritical folks, especially those in positions of power capable of doing great good or great ill, the sooner the ridiculousness of desperately making a pass over a pisuar will become a thing of the past while the possibility of rich open sexual expression between all people will become a thing of the present.
