The International Wildlife Film Festival is the premier venue for wildlife filmmaking and filmmakers. It is an annual gathering where film, television, new media, science and conservation converge. Often called the “Sundance” of the wildlife film genre, IWFF was the first film festival of its kind in the world. Today, it has the distinction of being the word’s longest running wildlife film festival, attracting nearly 10,000 people each year.
As an international film and conservation media center for filmmakers, broadcasters, scientists, educators, and students, IWFF provides a unique opportunity for sharing ideas and the development of proactive projects that impact what happens to our planet. The International Wildlife Film Festival is both a Filmmaker’s Festival, as one of the most important wildlife film events in the world and a Community festival for Missoula and all of Montana. Known worldwide for its welcoming atmosphere, IWFF is a learning and networking opportunity for filmmakers, and for providing a venue that enables conservation and film projects to flourish in an intimate and creative environment.
