Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project (AEACP) PACHYDERM PAINTER IMAGE GALLERY part 2 of 2 »
The Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project (AEACP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the diminishing number of Asian elephants left on our planet through its work with domesticated elephants. The AEACP raises funds through donations and the sale of artwork created by 35 elephants wielding a paintbrushes with their trunks.
Most paintings are acrylic on paper (or more rarely canvass) and some of these animal artists actually use dung paper — so yes folks that’s art from both ends of the elephant. Each painting is priced from $350 to $450 for abstract works, while coveted representational pieces (such as trees, still-lifes,flowers, bouquets,) or these pachyderm self-portraits painted by Hong, go for about $750. And leave it to the handlers of the lone participating elephant in the United States to encourage Renee to super-size things with a 9′ x 10′ canvas priced at $12,000. Paintings can be purchased directly from the AEACP website.

Also each elephant artist has their own unique biography with stats on location, age, sex (whether their a “tusker” or not), plus the meaning of their names, as well as each elephant’s fascinating story of how they came to the project and their unique artistic pachyderm painting styles.
